Associate Director Mechanical - Building Services, Sunderland

Reporting to the Office Director you will be required to manage / lead the mechanical building services elements of complex or highly technical projects and assist with delivery of projects within the build sectors as well as providing line management to a group of highly motivated, developing engineers. The role will be in our Sunderland office, and the candidate will have a knowledge of the North East market and will be required to assist the Office Director in developing and maintaining our the office in the North East

Main Responsibilities

Assist in developing conceptual & detailed design solutions in line with Client’s brief , Oversee and verify mechanical services design calculations using Bentley Heavcomp, and IES software, Management of projects to achieve client satisfaction and profitability for the business, Identify and manage resources to achieve project requirements, Financial management and reporting on project profitability, Technical and quality reviews of project information, Developing conceptual & detailed design solutions in line with client’s brief, Represent the business at a wide range of meetings, Assist in the preparation of fee submissions and project bids, Reviewing technical competency of mechanical work, Design, supervision and technical reviewing of allocated projects, Provide specialist technical advice and guidance at project and group level, Assist in the production of mechanical services specifications and schedules, Conduct initial and concept mechanical designs and review developed detail design, Provide technical support and advice and work directly with clients delivering projects, Provide statements/reports/feasability studies/support with regard to BD in the NE

Qualifications- Educated to at least Degree level in a relevant subject such as Building Services or Preferred - Working towards Chartered Engineer or equivalent.

Experience- Essential -  Mechanical Building Services Design, Previous experience of an engineering organisation, Highly experienced in the production of detailed mechanical design solutions for services such as air conditioning, comfort cooling, ventilation, domestic services, above ground drainage and building physics. Experienced in undertaking project management duties on M&E Design Projects.

Skills Essential -  Hevacomp, IES, Strong communication skills; Verbal & Written. Preferred  - Revit
