Desco Supports Careers Insights Scheme

Desco has been helping to promote the opportunities available to graduates that exist within small to medium sized businesses at a recent careers event.

The ‘Careers Insights’ programme, a scheme developed by Newcastle University, is aimed at raising the careers aspirations and expectations of students and helping them access development and work experience opportunities.

The latest event in the careers programme was hosted at the North East Business and Innovation Centre where invited SMEs addressed an audience of around 40 undergraduates. Paul Marshall, Desco’s managing director, along with technical director Paul Baker, spoke to the students about Desco, the type of work the company gets involved in, and how employing graduates has helped the business to grow and develop since it was established over 19 years ago.

Representatives from five other fellow high-growth businesses also spoke to the students about their businesses and respective graduate opportunities.

Since the session Desco has already received applications from a number of interested graduates keen to understand more about the opportunities available in M&E building services engineering design.
