Work begins on new Bedworth Physical Activity Hub
The hub is set to be completed in 2026 and will replace the current centre.
Planning permission has been granted for a new physical activity hub in Bedworth.
Desco has been appointed to design the mechanical, electrical and pool filtration design services for the new facility, which is being supported by Sport England.
The new development will replace the current centre and will include a gym, a four-court sports hall, an eight-lane, 25-metre swimming pool, learner pool, a new skate park, a 9v9 all-weather football pitch and a replacement car park. There will also be an outdoor active design works in Miners’ Welfare Park.
A safer pedestrian crossing at Sergeant Simon Valentine Way and some landscaping will link the town centre to a new entrance to the park.
Preparation work has begun on site, with the development set to be completed in spring 2026.
The team includes GT3, Hexa Consulting, Colour, Strategic Leisure Limited, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, AtkinsRealis, Hadron Consulting, BAM UK & Ireland and DHA Planning Group.
