Located opposite the world-famous Tower of London, the new CitizenM hotel opened in the heart of one London’s most historical sites. With a view over the city, including the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge, this is a one-of-a-kind hotel.
Opened in summer 2016, the CitizenM hotel offers 370 luxury rooms, to offer the most comfortable, yet affordable stays. Desco delivered the M&E detail design for the luxurious 9 storey, new build hotel, which comprises of a ground floor café, bar, living room spaces and a SocietyM business club. Designed with a home away from home feel, the hotel has a number of perks to offer to hotel guests, including free W-Fi and free movies.
The bar area, named CloudM, is the hotel bar located on the 7th and 8th floor, which includes panoramic views of the city from both inside and out. There’s also full-length glazing leading to an outside terrace.
The new building has been constructed over the exit hall of the Tower Hill London Underground Station. The works also include new access routes, lifts to the station platforms and re-landscaping of the adjacent public open space. The uninterrupted operation of the London Underground station has been of paramount importance and a combination of regular liaison and operational techniques has been employed by the D&B contractor to reduce any impact of the works.
