2024 CENE Shortlist Announced
CENE 2024 Shortlist has been announced, the region's prestigious built environment awards and features a number of projects which Desco designed the M&E services for.
The Constructing Excellence North East (CENE) Awards shortlist was announced last week and we’re delighted to see three projects we have designed the mechanical and electrical services for have made the list.
BIOS Building at Teesside University, which is a new state-of-the-art building for the School of Health & Life Sciences, is up for two awards in the Integration & Collaborative Working and Building Project of the Year categories. The North Shields Transport Hub, which brings together buses, the metro, taxis and cycling infrastructure, is shortlisted in the Climate Action category and Morpeth Sports and Leisure Centre, which brings together leisure facilities and community services is shortlisted in the Building Project of the Year category.
The Integration and Collaborative Working category showcase projects which showcase collaborative working to overcome challenges, manage risk and deliver better outcomes. Projects making the shortlist exemplify this approach and demonstrate the benefits of working in a collaborative way.
The Climate Action category showcases projects which provide improved environmental performance and outcomes using organisational culture, high quality design, effective procurement practices and innovative tools and techniques.
The Building Project of the Year category celebrates inspirational projects that deliver outstanding outcomes. Judges look for projects which demonstrate the Constructing Excellence principles and align with the collaborative work they undertake with the Construction Leadership Council.
The CENE awards will celebrate everything the North East Built Environment has to be proud of at their 20th awards ceremony. The awards ceremony will take place in June, with the regional finalists attending the national final in autumn.
