Desco team raise money for North East Autism Society in charity football competition
The team of 8 raised £290 for the charity which supports autistic and neurodivergent people across the North East
A team of 8 from Desco’s Sunderland office took part in the Business Fives Charity Event on Friday 23rd August, and raised £290 for the North East Autism Society at SoccerWorld in Newcastle.
Nick Jordan, Aidan Ward, James Alexander, Craig Ord, Josh Camm, Jon Parker, Matthew Miller and Lucas Crowe all took part, competing in 5 matches and managed to reach the semi-finals, winning 2 games and losing 3.
A drinks reception was held after the competition where Desco were awarded the Top Fundraiser trophy by event ambassador and former Newcastle United player Steve Watson, who also did a Q&A with the teams.
Greenleaf won the Champions League and secured a place in the National Final, alongside runners up Muckle LLP and Europa League Winners Womble Bond Dickinson.
The team had a fantastic day and are already looking forward to joining next year’s tournament.
