PlanBEE Student Jodie Carson joins Desco’s Building Physics Team
PlanBEE, Building Physics, Students, Placement, MEP Design, Engineering. Nineteen-year-old Architecture Engineering and Construction student Jodie Carson has joined Desco for her third placement under the PlanBEE higher apprenticeship programme.
Jodie will be spending four months at our Head Office, in Sunderland, following previous placements at MBS and Ryder.
PlanBEE provide a programme whereby students can combine their studies with work in industry leading companies. The areas of study PlanBEE thrive on are Design, Construction and Leadership. Jodie is following a PlanBEE programme delivered by Gateshead College.
Her official placement with Desco started in early May, where she joined our Building Physics team. Supported by Paul Baker, one of our Directors, and Keith Ketchley, our Building Physics Associate Director, Jodie is enjoying her placement so far. Gaining valuable experience Jodie has already carried out work on live projects, including Darlington Farmers Auction Mart.
As a thriving young student, Jodie positively explained how beneficial it is to work for leading companies. Here at Desco, Jodie has been introduced to new software’s, but has also been familiarised with REVIT, a piece of software previously used.
From a very young age, Jodie shared a positive interest in design. With a sketch book in hand, Jodie wished to pursue a career that was design orientated.
